Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how HASKAR Media uses cookies and similar technologies on our website, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Short version: We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are always active. Analytics and preference cookies only run if you accept them. You can change your choice at any time.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function properly, remember your preferences, and — in some cases — understand how visitors use the site.
Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser ("session cookies"). Others stay for a defined period ("persistent cookies").
2. Categories We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are essential. Without them, the website cannot function securely. They do not require your consent under GDPR because they're based on legitimate interest and the performance of our service to you.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
haskar_consent |
Stores your cookie preferences (accepted / rejected categories) | 12 months | First-party |
__cf_bm |
Cloudflare Bot Management — detects malicious traffic and bots | 30 minutes | Third-party (Cloudflare) |
cf_clearance |
Cloudflare security challenge clearance | 30 minutes – 1 year | Third-party (Cloudflare) |
2.2 Analytics / Performance Cookies
These help us understand how people use the site so we can improve it. They only run if you explicitly accept them. All data is aggregated and never linked to your identity.
We use a self-hosted, privacy-focused analytics system. No data leaves our infrastructure. No personal identifiers are stored. IP addresses are anonymized before processing.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
haskar_analytics_session |
Anonymous session identifier used to group page views | 30 minutes | First-party |
haskar_analytics_visitor |
Anonymous visitor identifier — random, not linked to any personal data | 13 months | First-party |
What we measure:
- Which pages are visited and how often
- Time spent on each page
- Scroll depth (how far down visitors read)
- Aggregated click positions (heatmaps) to improve layout
- Referral sources (which site or campaign brought visitors)
What we do NOT measure:
- We do not record sessions (no video, no screenshots)
- We do not track you across other websites
- We do not link your behavior to your identity
- We do not use advertising pixels (Facebook, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn)
2.3 Preference Cookies
If the site in the future offers customizable settings (language, display mode, etc.), we may store your preferences locally in a cookie. These also require your consent.
3. What We Never Do
- We never sell cookies or data derived from them.
- We never share analytics with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use cross-site tracking pixels.
- We never build personal profiles for targeting.
4. How to Control Cookies
You have three ways to control cookies on our site:
4.1 Our Cookie Banner
When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics and preference cookies independently. You can change your choice at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
4.2 Browser Settings
All major browsers let you block or delete cookies. Instructions:
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
4.3 Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we automatically treat it as a rejection of analytics and preference cookies.
5. Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party cookies we use are from Cloudflare (strictly necessary for security and infrastructure). We do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or social tracking scripts.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change. The "Last Updated" date will reflect the current version. Material changes will be announced on the site.
