Elon Musk has announced a plan to distribute one SpaceX share to each child in the United States starting next year. With approximately 72 million children in the country as of July 2025, the initiative is expected to value around $10.5 billion in shares. Musk shared the announcement on X, stating it will be the first of many such giveaways. This move follows similar actions by other industry leaders, including SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell, who previously allocated shares to 2 million Trump Accounts, a type of tax-advantaged investment account for American children. The initiative aligns with broader efforts by Musk to influence political and economic landscapes through significant financial contributions. In addition to the stock giveaway, Musk has made substantial donations to Republican political campaigns, including $158 million to the Senate Leadership Fund PAC in September alone. His contributions have significantly impacted the funding of midterm election efforts, further solidifying his influence in political and corporate spheres.
