Bluesky's Attie AI tool, initially launched this year for creating personalized feeds, has expanded its capabilities to let users generate social apps. These apps can range from games and polls to dashboards, which users can then share with others. Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider described the tool as "social vibe coding" or "vibe coding for your community." Users can create their own Attie apps by simply typing in a prompt. For instance, a simple poll about Pokémon Red and Blue took just a few minutes to generate. The Attie website showcases several examples, including a Flappy Bird clone called "Flappy Butterfly," a drum machine, a quiz, and an idle clicker featuring a celery man. Each app has a custom link on the attie.site domain and attribution for its creator. While the apps created so far are lightweight novelties, the drum machine was particularly well-received. This expansion marks a significant step in Bluesky's efforts to foster community-driven content creation through AI.
